Addressing at the event, Le Hong Quan said Ho Chi Minh city considers tourism developments as one of the city’s major tasks to promote the image, people, culture, historical relics, and socio-economic potential of Vietnam, and to call upon investors.
Annually, Ho Chi Minh hosts tourism events such as “three countries-one destination” fair in 2010 that involved Vietnam – Laos- Cambodia, and tourism fair in 2011 adds more participating units as Myanmar and 140 international and Vietnam travel companies.
Thanks to those efforts, the city welcomed 2.9 million foreign visitors during the first ten months of this year. Quan said, the number of foreign tourists to the city is expected to reach up to over 3.4 million next year. He hoped that Ho Chi Minh city will welcome a lot of tourists from the US to visit the city and explore a beautiful Vietnam with friendly and hospitable people in the near future.
Attending the event, visitors had opportunities to watch films introducing HCM City and enjoy traditional Vietnamese dishes.
