From the past to now, the Khmer people in An Giang have lived in small villages around the mountain foot. Most of the Khmer earn living by farm work and cows are very important animals in their daily work which help them to plough fields. Therefore, cows are taken care by the Khmer very carefully. It’s said that previously in the afternoon when the work of ploughing fields finished early, some cow owners had inspiration of racing cows. And from that, day by day, cow racing has become a very attractive festival.
