100% of villages have cultural communal houses, contributing to the preservation and promotion of cultural identities of ethnic minority groups in localities. So far, the Central Highlands of Dak Lak province has built 550 cultural communal houses in ethnic-inhabited villages with an capital of over 60 billion VND. Apart from the investment from the state (100 million VND for each), enterprises and localities in and out the provinces have also supported each house with between 15 to 150 million VND. Many ethnic families donated thousands of land meters to build cultural communal houses which were built according to traditional house models of ethnic minority groups. The province also provided a set of gongs for each cultural communal house. With the supervision of the Dak Lak provincial People’s Council, most of cultural communal houses in villages have been effectively operated. These are also places for cultural workers and ethnic people to organize cultural activities as well as meetings to provide information about polices of the party and laws of the state, introduce sciences in production and life, play gongs and weave brocade. |
