On Jan 26, in Hanoi, the awards ceremony for "Contest on new slogan and logo for the National Tourism Promotion Program from 2011 to 2015" was held by the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism.

The event attracted the attendance of VNAT's General Director Nguyen Van Tuan; Deputy General Director Nguyen Manh Cuong; Chairman of Vietnam Tourism Association Nguyen Phu Duc, Departments of VNAT and Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, tourism companies and Press agencies...

According to Deputy General Director Nguyen Manh Cuong- Head of the organizing board, the new slogan and logo are expected to improve the competitiveness of Vietnam’s tourism sector and help attract more international tourists to Vietnam in the coming time.

The contest attracted 223 authors with 413 artistic works. 10 most excellent works were chosen to give award including the 1st, the 2nd, the 3rd and 7 consolation prizes.

The 1st prize was given to the slogan and logo "Vietnam-A Different Orient" of Cowan design and consultant Co.Ltd.

Vietnam's symbolic 5 pointed star-inspired by, and draw directly from the national flag has been stylized and energized.

The star's upward flight denotes friendliness which its animated, leaping form represents youthfulness and in turn, engagement.

The mix of rich colors represent Vietnam's visual diversity and in particular the country's natural beauty, all incorporated to exemplify vivid, captivating experiences.
