Diverse activities to mark King Tran Nhan Tong’s 700th death anniversary

Nearly 200 professors, Ph.D holders and scholars from Japan, the Republic of Korea, China, Thailand and Vietnam gathered at a scientific seminar held in the northern province of Quang Ninh on November 21 to discuss the life and the cause of King Tran Nhan Tong.

The seminar is under the framework of a grand ceremony to mark King Tran Nhan Tong’s 700th death anniversary.

Earlier on November 25, thousands of followers flocked to Yen Tu area and offered incense at Cua Ong temple and Quynh Lam pagoda in northeastern Quang Ninh province.

A calligraphic exhibition was also held there to display the poems and works of King Tran Nhan Tong, who was also a Buddhist monk.

On the occasion, the Buddhism associations of Quang Ninh province and HCM City presented 500 gifts worth VND500,000 each to disadvantaged and poor families in Thuong Yen Cong and Phuong Dong communes, in Uong Bi district.
