From its inception, the association attracted over 40 youths and students in Indiana. It aims to share experiences and provide assistance among the members, as well as connect the Vietnamese students and Vietnamese community in the state.
Huynh Khac Diep, Chairman of the Indiana Overseas Vietnamese Student Association (IOVSA) said there will be a meeting every month to promote the images of Vietnamese students among other associations.
The association also plans to teach Vietnamese to both overseas Vietnamese community and international students in Indiana.
The IOVSA had in the past participated in charity programmes for the elderly people and disabled children in Thuy An commune, Ba Vi district of Hanoi.
In the meeting between the US professors and the Vietnamese Deputy Chief of Mission to the US Nguyen Vu Tung, the professors highly praised Vietnamese students’ academic achievements, many are top students in their classes.
