The films include Always-Sunset on Third Street, Dora Heita, Memories of Matsuko, The Blossoming of Etsuko Kamiya, Tokyo Tower-Mom and Me and Sometimes Dad.
These films will give audiences a panoramic view of of Japanese history, culture and society, said Takeji Yoshikawa, director of the Japan Foundation.
The festival, coorganised by the Japan Foundation and the Vietnamese Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, is part of the activities to celebrate the 2009 Mekong-Japan Exchange Year.
Tickets are available at 27 Quang Trung Str, 87 Lang Ha Str in Hanoi and 19 Cao Thang Str in Ho Chi Minh City.
