Tran Quang Hoan, Vietnamese Ambassador to the UK reiterated the homeland’s information in 2010 to the overseas Vietnamese.
Len Aldis, Britain-Vietnam Friendship Society President, and Peter Lacy, Medical and Scientific Aids for Vietnam, Lao and Cambodia Chairman, also took part in the event. They pledged to continue helping Vietnam’s Agent/Orange victims and poor children in the future.
Son Thanh, Chairman of the Vietnamese in the UK Association expressed his thanks to the Vietnamese community for their contributions to flood victims in Vietnam’s central provinces at the gathering.
Nguyen Minh Triet, Chairman of the Vietnamese Students’ Association, said the students would try their best in studies for work in Vietnam after graduation.
On January 22, Vietnam consul general in Hong Kong and Macao (China) celebrated Tet with the participation of staff from Vietnam’s representative offices and Vietnamese people in Hong Kong.
At the meeting, Certificates of Merit by Committee for Overseas Vietnamese were given to individuals who significantly contributed to their homeland and the Vietnamese community in Hong Kong and Macau.
