In response to Vietnam Poetry Day, the Quang Ngai Provincial Literature and Arts Association coordinated with the local radio and television in broadcasting a programme themed “Poetry and Island” on the morning of February 28.

Twenty-four poems and six songs in praise of the fatherland and the spirit of national defense were introduced. During the day, various activities such as writing calligraphy, an exhibition of photos, art and literary publications and an exchange between poets, music composers and art lovers also took place in the province.

In Nha Trang City, 64 special poems by members of the municipal Literature and Arts Association were fastened to bunches of balloons and released into the sky at the night poetry reading on February 27.

In the central province of Thua Thien-Hue, an exchange between Huong Giang and the Elderly Poetry club was held on February 27.

The organising board of Vietnam Poetry Day in Hue coordinated with Huong River magazine and Hue Science University to visit the graves of poets in the municipal cemetery to show gratitude for the poems that had contributed much to the poetry movement in this city.
