Red River Vietnam reached top world’s most beautiful landscapes

The Russian magazine Rianovosti voted Red River of Vietnam to be one of the most beautiful landscapes in the world.

Together with Lake Baikal, the Grand Canyon, ... Red River has been listed in 18 most beautiful landscapes of the world voted by the Russian magazine Rianovosti.

Red river, Vietnam, is the largest northern Vietnam river and flows in the Gulf of Tonkin. The source of the river is from the China's Yunnan province and after flowing 1,175 km southeast the river discharges in the Gulf of Tonkin crossing the great Delta. Red river is about 120 km long and 140 km wide and it is amazing to watch the expansion of the river to about 100 metres in a year. Generally the flow of Red river is 500 million cubic water per second, but during the rainy season the flow multiplies about 60 times of its normal rate.

The Red Vietnam delta lies in one of the major highways of the coastal strip and thus acts as an important transportation link between China and Vietnam. During the rainy season, flood is very natural yet the Dikes and canals provides protection against the floodwaters.

The region around the Red river, Vietnam comprises the highest population densities and around fifteen million people inhabit the region. The Red river delta is famous from the ancient days as the place has produced good number of fine craftspeople.
