A truly spectacular night of multi-coloured light, featuring the theme of Metal, was brought to Han River in Da Nang city on the third night of the 2017 International Fireworks Festival in Da Nang (DIFF) on May 27.

Senior firework teams from the UK and China sparked the Han River in fireworks, music, and light, combined with the falling rain.

The champion at the 2009 event, the LiuYang Dancing Fireworks team from China, offered tens of thousands of viewers a performance combining harmony and light, based on the famous love story on the ill-fated Titanic cruise. Founded in 1995, LiuYang Dancing Fireworks has performed at a number of major events, including the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2008 Beijing Olympics as well as the opening ceremony of the 2010 Shanghai World Expo. The performance at the DIFF 2017 by the Chinese team incorporated 2,000 fireworks, divided into five chapters tied to the song in the famous movie “Titanic.” The Chinese team tells the love story of the Titanic.

The UK representative, Pyrotex Fireworx team, was founded in 1999 and their performance at this year’s event was full of colors and unique effects. Along with the pyrotechnics on display in the Da Nang skyline, the Metal night also offered audiences gong performances by artists from the Central Highlands province of Dak Lak.

In addition, a Peking opera performance by the Chongqing Peking Opera Troupe (China) left a deep impression on the audience. Differing from previous events, this year’s festival is separated into five nights with eleven displays from teams around the world. Themed “Shining with Marble Mountain,” the events have been separated into the five elements, Fire, Earth, Metal, Water and Wind, of Da Nangs’ famous mountain. Da Nang’s sky will be lit up once again as defending champions Howard & Sons Pyrotechnics from Australia compete with Martarello S.R.L from Italy in the fourth match, themed Water, next week on June 3. The festival will run from April 30 until June 24 with many fascinating side events. The impressive performance from the British team.
