The Prime Minister has approved overall plans for the development of the Son Tra National Tourism Area in the central coastal city of Da Nang through to 2025 with a vision to 2030.

The planning aims to turn the area into a high-quality ecological tourism and an important destination for tours by road and sea.

The designated Son Tra National Tourism Area, covering 4,439 hectares, is located on the Son Tra Peninsula in Tho Quang ward, Son Tra district, and is around 10  kilometers northeast of Da Nang's downtown.

The are is projected to welcome 3.5 million tourists and earn revenues of VND 1.9 trillion (US$ 85 million) by 2025, 4.6 million tourists and VND 4.3 trillion (US$ 193 million) by 2030.
