A 14-hectare park on the side of the Saigon River has been opened in Ho Chi Minh City with a design inspired by the US's iconic Central Park, local media reported on Sunday.
Also named Central Park, the Binh Thanh District-based park houses 40 sections such as a Japanese-styled garden, a fountain, children's playground and a picnic area, according to the reports.
Real estate conglomerate Vingroup developed the park at more than VND500 billion (US$22.13 million) as part of its apartment complex.
Vingroup was quoted as saying the park would consist of gardens, some in Japanese style, areas for exercise and children’s play areas.
A lawn big enough for events with more than 1,000 people would also be part of more than 40 works at the park, it said.
US landscaping company EDSA is the consultant for the park's design.
