The ancient town of Hoi An in central Quang Nam province will host the final round of the Vietnam Beauty Contest 2008 in August, said the contest’s organising board at a press conference in Ho Chi Minh City on May 21.

The 20th beauty contest, launched by Tien Phong (Vanguard) newspaper, attracted many young Vietnamese girls aged between 18-27, at least 1.60m tall and neither married nor have children.

Participants who pass the first qualifying round will travel to the next round to be held in Hanoi and HCM City.

The winner will be awarded the prize of VND150 million and one trip abroad while her runners-up will get VND80 million and VND60 million, respectively.
The final night is slated for August 31.
