Vietnam has handed over to Laos a history book on the resistance war of eight northern provinces of Laos in the 1945-1975 period.

The 900-page book, complied by Vietnamese experts, also chronicles a series of important historic events of Laos in the period.

At the hand-over ceremony, Lao Deputy Minister of Defence Somphet Thipmala said the book is of great political, historical and scientific value as it presents a full review of a splendid period in Laos’ history as well as lessons of patriotism, self-reliance will and solidarity among Lao ethnic groups.

The Lao Deputy Minister expressed thanks for the effective assistance from Vietnamese experts in the compilation of the book.
