Vietnam-RoK joint film wins prize at Seoul festival

The television series “Golden Bride”, co-produced by Vietnam and the Republic of Korea (RoK), has won “the Best TV Film” award at the 2008 Seoul Drama Festival.

The film is the third joint project between Vietnam’s Feature Film Studio No. 1 (FF1) and the RoK’s SBS Television, after “Hanoi Bride” and “Lobster Season”.

“Golden Bride” tells a story about a RoK family’s trip to Vietnam to seek a wife for their son who suffers from mental problems. During the visit, the mother meets Jinjoo, a Korean-Vietnamese girl who wants to go to the RoK to look for her father. Jinjoo agrees to marry the Korean man and with her kind heart, she helps her husband overcome his illness. At the same time, she manages to find her father.

The film gathers RoK film star Lee Young Ah and several Vietnamese actors and actresses, including Tat Binh and Nhu Quynh.
