When fog covers the hamlet, roads leading to Muong Lo are bustling with people and animals.
Bai Cai in Thach Luong village, Van Chan district, in the northern province of Yen Bai was bustling with Tet atmosphere on the 28th of the lunar December.
It is not Tet but it is very special day for people in the hamlet because all the families killed pigs early in the morning to pray to the gods and dead relatives and invite them to welcome the New Year with much good luck.
Hoang Van Hao, a resident of the hamlet said his family killed a 70-kilogram pig and made more than 100 chung cakes because they had a bumper crop and raised a lot of livestock. He said he hopes his family will produce even more rice and pigs in the New Year.
