Bai Mon Beach- Mui Dien Cape is one of three national-level vestiges in Phu Yen province. From Bai Mon beach, tourists in Vietnam travel can walk across a small fresh-water stream, follow the mountain road, climb up about 400 steps on a road of 500 meters long, there is the light-house station of more than 100 years old.
Bai Mon beach and Mui Dien cape are located next to each other, belonging to Dong Be hamlet, Hoa Tam commune, Dong Hoa district, Phu Yen province.
Mui Dien cape, also known as Dai Lanh cape, Ke Ga cape or Cap Varella; with the geographical co-ordination of 120 53'48'' Degrees North and 1090 27'06'' Degrees East; From Tuy Hoa city, following the road Hoa Hiep Phuoc Tan Bai Nga for about 24 kilometers, visitors in Vietnam travel will arrive at Bai Mon Mui Dien or visitors can go from Tuy Hoa city, follow the national Highway 1A for about 25 kilometers to the middle of Deo Ca Pass, take the road down to Vung Ro bay, follow the asphalt road to the east for about 5 kilometers that is Bai Mon - Mui Dien. From Bai Mon beach, visitors can walk across a small fresh-water stream, follow the mountain road, climb up about 400 steps on a road of 500 meters long, there is the light-house station.
At the end of the 19th century, a French captain-officer named Varella discovered and recognized the importance of this land cape on the map of the international shipping, therefore, the French people called it Cap Varella. In 1890, the French built the light-house on the purpose of giving directions for the boats and ships operating in Vung Ro bay. After the wars, the light-house was ruined. In 1995, the light-house was restored and again put into operation. This is one of the eight light-houses of more than 100 years old among the total of 79 light-houses operating in Vietnam; it is also the light-house situated the nearest to the international territorial waters.
Bai Mon beach is protected by Mui Nay cape in the North and Mui Dien cape in the South, the seashore is more than 400 meters long, the sand is white and smooth, the water is blue and clear, the waves are gentle, the slope degree is small and sloping gently toward the sea.
Within a radius of about 5 kilometers, there are 3 national-level vestiges: Bai Mon beach Mui Dien cape, Da Bia Mountain, Vung Ro bay and many other beautiful beaches such as Bai Goc beach, Bai Bang beach in the north, the preserved forest of North Deo Ca Pass. This area has great potential for developing various types of tourism: marine relaxation, marine sports, mountain climbing, sightseeing, studying the eco-system of the sea and the forest.Coming to Bai Mon Beach- Mui Dien Cape, tourists in Vietnam travel have a chance to see the first rays of the sun-rise on the mainland of Vietnam.
