The mountain range is 280km in length from Phong Tho to Hoa Binh, 75 km in width, includes 3 smaller ranges: Bach Moc Luong Tu, Fansipan and Pu Luong. This Indochina’s roof is the favourite destination for visitors all over the world, await for mysterious and excited experiences.
Fansipan peak, the highest point in Vietnam
According to scientists, Fansipan was formed 100 million years ago. The flora in the mountain is so diverse with 1,680 species of plants. Types of plants depend on altitude: on the foot is home to jackfruit tree, cotton tree (bombax ceiba), pterocarya; the name Coc Mit (jackfruit tree valley) and Coc Gao (bombax ceiba tree valley may be originated from this feature. Lower than 700m are covered by vast rainforest; Gymnosperms (seed-bearing plants) like fokienia, pine tree are found at the height of 700m to over 2000m. At 2.963m is lying a milestone by French that they had conquered in 1905. Climbing on the peak, visitors will be impressed by colourful flowers such as rose, chrysanthemums, various kind of orchid and other wild flowers.
Climbing to conquer Fansipan Mountain
There are a number of waterfalls around the foot of Fansipan such as Cat Cat, Thac Bac (Silver Waterfall), Thac Ham Rong (Dragon JawWaterfall), Thac Lanh (Cold Waterfall) and Thac Tinh Yeu (Love Waterfall). These waterfalls also the ideal place for anyone who want to explore and conquer everything in Fansipan.
The best time to climbing the mountain and contemplate the splendid landscape is from September to March in next year. February, when all wild flowers are coming into bloom, a lot of people go there to capture the most beautiful moment of year.
