Vietnam will send around 1,000 students to do doctorates in the UK in the 2008-2020 period and 100 are expected to complete their work in 2008-2009.

This is part of a memorandum of understanding on Ph.D training co-operation signed on October 15 between the Vietnamese Ministry of Education and Training and seven universities in the UK, including Nottingham, Warwick, Birmingham, Leeds, Sheffield, Southampton and UCL of the London University.
