Da Nang International Fireworks Festival 2017 (DIFF 2017) will take place for two months, from 29 April to 24 June 2017 with the theme "Shining Marble Mountain" and with a view to making Da Nang a unique cultural festival tourism space.
Da Nang International Fireworks Competition has been officially changed into Da Nang International Fireworks Festival and is held annually instead of biennially by People's Committee of Da Nang and Sun Group.

According to Lê Quý Dương, general director of the festival, the event will be the first of its kind in Vietnam and the longest summer festival in the country, as well as the biggest firework festival in Southeast Asia region. As the major activity of the festival, a fireworks contest with the theme "Shining Marble Mountain" will have 8 teams, including the seven champions of the previous years and Da Nang team. The 7 foreign teams are from Switzerland, Japan, the UK, Italy, Austria, Australia and China. Each country will perform every Saturday night, the top three teams will be selected to compete at the final night on June 24.
Along with the fireworks performances, many attractive auxiliary festivals will be organized in the framework of DIFF 2017 such as Cham culture festival, sculpture festival, "Marble" International Cuisine Festival, street festival, beer festival, barefoot runs on sand, etc.
The Da Nang City People's Committee has directed relevant agencies to make preparations and finalise their plans of organisation in order to ensure the success of the festival. Mesures have also been taken to raise public awareness of the event as well as to ensure food safety and social security.
With excellent programs and large scale, DIFF 2017 is expected to attract 2 million visitor arrivals to Da Nang during 2 months of the festival.
