The boy, only identified by his initials N.T.U., was brought to the Children’s Hospital No.1, a leading pediatric hospital in the city, after a tumor was seen on the gum on his upper jaw, news website Dan Tri reported Thursday.
X-Rays showed small bone structures stuck together under the tumor that was 3-cm wide, 3-cm long, and 2-cm high.
Doctors performed a surgery and removed all 54 little teeth.
U.'s parents said the boy has felt no pain but the tumor made his mouth look bad and had prevented his canine teeth from growing. The molars, which are supposed to grow after canines, are already there.
Doctors said teratoma is not dangerous but teeth teratoma can prevent the normal growth of some teeth and deform the jaw and face.
