The choir team from Diponenegoro University of Indonesia won the first ever Vietnam International Choir Festival that finished on Saturday, March 19.
The choir from the Central University of Art Education of Vietnam won one of the six first prizes. Other winners were Plaisir Ensemble choir of Hong Kong (China), Coro San Benildo and llocos Norte National High School-Samiweng Singers choirs of the Philippines.
A thousand singers from 30 troupes from 11 nations and territories participated in the four-day festival that was co-organized by Quang Nam Province and the German-based Association InterKultur.
Aiming to bridge different cultures and nationalities through song, the festival featured mostly traditional songs.
