The Festival “Southern Land Cuisine" 2012 will take place from May 25 to May 27, 2012 at Dam Sen Cultural Park with the participation of more than 50 catering business units and more than 90 cuisine booths. The urban people have a chance to enjoy culinary culture values, food brands and various famous specialties of the rich Southern Land.<br><br>

To exploit the cuisine culture values as well as introduce the special features of the diversity cuisine of Vietnam, the Southern Land, the Ministry and Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of HCM city, the HCM tourism association in cooperation with the Phu Tho Limited Service-Tourism Company will organize the Festival “The Southern Land Cuisine” 2012. The Festival will takes place from May 25 to May 27, 2012 at Dam Sen Cultural Park. The participated units include the branded companies, whose products are food, drinks and famous specialties of the provinces from Hue to the southern.

The competition “The Delicious Food of Southern” within the festival “Southern Land Cuisine” involves in processing and serving food activities with the topics: Central Vietnamese Marine cuisine, Tay Nguyen cuisine, Southern cuisine, Sai Gon cuisine. Each booth is decorated with distinctive style, reflecting the cultural characteristics of the regional cuisine. The fellow dinners will understand more about the Southern culture through its cuisine.

Regional Food competition

 Moreover, intermingling in the festival is the original art performances: Southern Traditional Music, Ethnic Ensemble or attractive folk games like Foot Bridge, Fishing, cricket competition…In addition, the competition “Vegetable Sculpture” performs the art of trimming, sculpturing and arranging the food into the high creative products. The tourists will have the precious opportunity to contemplate.

The Festival “Southern Land Cuisine” 2012 will bring more sense when the winning products in the competitions will be auctioned in order to raise funds for the poor children of the city.
