1. Time to travel
The most appropriate time to travel to Hanoi is from September to November or from March to April. It is time for the warm weather. It will be pleasant, not too dry and hot. However, the most interesting season is the autumn. At that time, Hanoi wears itself a new shirt that is most romantic and gentle of the year.
2. Season
Hanoi’s climate is typically for Northern with tropical monsoon type, hot summer, a lot of rain and cold winter, less rain. One outstanding of Hanoi’s climate is the changing and different between hot and cold seasons. Hot season is from May to September with a lots of rain, average temperature is 28,1 °C. From November to next year March is winter climate with average temperature is 18,6 °C. Along with 2 transition periods is on April and October, the city has all 4 seasons: Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter.
3.Transportation:
From HCMC or other provinces, you can go to Hanoi by train, car or plane.
If going by train, you should book tickets at Saigon station ( 01 Nguyen Thong, Ward 9, District 3, HCMC). There are many types of ticket for you to choose (hard seat, soft sate, air-conditioned bed..) cost from VND 782.000 per one. And the train will stop at the Hanoi station on Le Duan Street.
If by car, you can choose the car manufactures as Hoang Long, Mai Linh…Starting from Mien Dong station with the price of about VND 550.000 per one. It takes you about 60 hours by car.
The plane is the fastest means of transportation to Hanoi. It takes you 1:45 minutes for the flight and about 2 hours to carry out procedures. Therefore, the total time that you move from HCMC to Hanoi center is about 5 hours. Airfare from HCMC to Hanoi now oscillates with different prices. You can follow the promotion programs of Vietnam Airline, VietJet Air, Jetstar...
Transportation from the airport to the center of Hanoi.
-Cars of the airport (cost VND 35.000/person). They will take you to No.1, Quang Trung street, Hoan Kiem district, Hanoi
-Taxi (cost about VND 300.000), suitable for large group
- Bus: Take the bus no.7 to Cau Giay transshipment. Then take no.32 or 25 to Giap Bat station.
4. Attractions in Hanoi

*Temple of Literature (Quoc Tu Giam)
Opening hours: 8 a.m-5 p.m from November to March and 7h30 a.m- 6 p.m for remaining months. Temple ò Literature is closed on Sunday.
Location: 58 Quoc Tu Giam, Dong Da district, about 20km to the West from Hoan Kiem Lake.
Entrance fee: VND 10.000/ turn.
*Hoan Kiem Lake and Ngoc Son Temple
Flowers and ornamental plants are planted around the lake. There is Turtle Tower between the lake and Ngoc Son Temple on the lake. There are many other historical sites around the lake such as But Tower engraved 3 words “ Ta Thanh Thien” ( written on the blue sky), Dai Nghien, Tran Ba, Hoa Phong tower..

* Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum - One Pillar Pagoda
One Pillar Pagoda located near Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, so you can take a stroll to visit the unique architecture.
Opening hour: opening 5 days per week on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday morning. From April to October opening from 7:30 a.m-10:30 a.m; From November to March, opening from 8 a.m to 11 a.m; opening more 30 minutes on holidays, Saturdays, Sundays. Every year, in October and November, Mausoleum is closed to repair
*87 Ma May House
87 Ma May House is located in the north of Hoan Kiem Lake in the area of Hanoi’s Old Quarter. The house was built around the late nineteenth century and still retains quite full details of Hanoi's ancient architecture.
Opening hour: 8 a.m-20 p.m. there are Dao Xa folk art performances, ca tru at 7 p.m everyday, lasting 60 minutes.
Ticket: VND 5.000-10.000/ person.

*Nhat Tan flower garden
There are flowers blooming all year round

Location : Going into 264 Au Co lane, Tay Ho district.

*Duong Lam ancient village ( about 50km far from the Hanoi center)
Vehicle: From Hanoi, you can go to Duong Lam by car, motorcycle, even bus, then take motorcycle taxi to the village

My Dinh bus station-> Son Tay, no.71
- By passenger car: My Dinh-Phu tho ( takes you about 1:15 minutes)

*Bat Trang village ( about 15 km far from the Hanoi center)
Direction: From the center of Hanoi, you can follow Vinh Tuy bridge, thanh Tri bridge. Through Hong River, you turn the right about 10-15km, you reach Bat Trang village. You can also take bus no.47 from Long Bien station.
