Gáo Giồng ecological tourist area
The ecological tourist area is located in hamlet 6, Gáo Giồng commune, Cao Lanh district, Dong Thap, also known as Gáo Giồng bird garden with charming natural landscape features for Dong Thap Muoi.
The tourist area was established in 3/2003 with total an area of 36 hectares. Here ahss 15 bird species living and nesting: mallards, corks, herons…as well as hundreds of plants and fish.
Dong Thap orchard
Dong Thap fruit has long become a famous name over the country, attaches to very familiar place: Cao Lanh mango, Chau Thanh longan, Phong Hoa grapefruit, Lai Vung tangerine.
Kien An Chung pagoda
Kien An Chung pagoda, also known as Ong Quach pagoda, situated in the center of Sa Dec commune. The pagoda is famous for its unique and majestic architecture; the roof was made elaborately with 3 layers: the first layer is tile, the middle layer is brick and the final is tile.
Coming here, you will have a chance to see firsthand a typical architecture and delicate carvings. Every year, the pagoda has two days ceremony in 2/22 and 8/22 lunar calendar.
Dinh Yen mat market (Ghost market)
Dinh Yen market is placed in Dinh Yen commune, Lap Vo district, Dong Thap province, about 35 kilometers from Sa Dec town.
Meeting for 2 hours at night is the unique culture of this market and the locals call as “ghost market”. Because people are busy with farm work all day, they only have free time at night to meeting. Every year, Dinh Yen mat market provides millions of products throughout the Mekong Delta and the South East and mat is the best selling goods around December, January and February.
Another special feature of the market is seller standing and removing, buyers sitting. Customers sit on a place to wait mat seller coming and then bargaining.
