During the early October floods, which caused huge damages to people in the central region, the SPF provided relief aid to 1,000 families within just one month.
Other charity activities were carried out through the network of the Association’s volunteers in Khanh Hoa province. In the upcoming time, the SPF will continue to raise funds from all provinces and cities in France to support flood victims in Vietnam.
Previously, during the war, the SPF provided ambulances, essential medical equipment and medicines to Vietnam’s Red Cross. After the war, the Association’s charity activities focused on helping hospitals, students and AO/Dioxin victims.
Over the past 30 years, the Association has deployed over 20 programmes to assist Vietnam, including supporting poor people, enlarging the Saint Paul Hospital, preventing HIV/AIDS, providing equipment needed in education and training, and improving infrastructure to upgrade living standards.
Millions of euros and essential items have been donated by the SPF and delivered directly to the disadvantaged in Vietnam for many years. The Association will do more to help reduce difficulties faced by poor people in Vietnam, Mr. Julien Laupretre emphasised.
