The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism revealed today (February 28) that, the city authorities have sent delegations to Laos to take part in a seminar on promoting the open-up of the international air route Pakse - Savanakhet - Danang organized by Lao National Airlines.
It is scheduled that Laos Airlines will exploit Pakse - Savanakhet - Danang air route at the middle of April 2012 (during Laos’s traditional Tet holiday) with an estimated frequency of 3 flights/week on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday using 65 seat ATR-72.
Under the flight schedule, Lao Airlines’ planes will start from Pakse at 9am to Savanaket at 9:30am, and then take off from Savanaket at 10:10am to Danang at 11:40am. The plane will leave Danang for Savanket at 14:10 on the days above.
At the present, Lao Airlines is completing the licensing procedures with relevant agencies of Laos and Vietnam. Lao Airlines also estimates fare for the new route and the its representatives stated that they will have reasonable price policy, especially for travel agencies to develop this new route.
According to Lao Airlines, passengers for this new route include mostly Vietnamese community at Savanahet because the number of Vietnamese living and working here reaches upon 7000 people; others include visitors from tourism programs, visitors from Vientiane (Laos), Bangkok (Thailand), and North-Eastern region of Thailand.
