Café Indochine Corner – Memories of Sai Gon in the past

Indochine Corner is a very famous cafe restaurant in Ho Chi Minh city. Coming here, you will feel as if Saigon’s past relived in Indochine Corner. If you want to get away from the noisy streets and hot weather for a short time then Indochine Corner is a good choice.

Located at 43 Tran Nhat Duat Street, Tan Dinh Ward in the city’s District 1, it is an ideal spot to enjoy a relaxing cup of coffee after a shopping trip. There are also a number of quality vegetarian meals on offer.

Indochine Corner (Goc Dong Duong) has been launched from June 2011. It is the third coffee shop run by Dzambala Corp. System which owns Tibetan Coffee Shop at Ton That Tung Street, District 1 and European-style Tara Coffee Lounge at Thich Quang Duc Street, Phu Nhuan District, Ho Chi Minh city.

Indochine Corner will bring you back to 1940s or 50s Saigon. Dzambala owner Kathy Ngoc Lan said that the corporation will also open some more coffee shops in the city in the future.  “I want to bring some of the old Saigon to the current generation,” she said.

To make Indochine Corner possible, Lan rebuilt and decorated a dilapidated house on Tran Nhat Duat Street. She wanted to go with warm colors such as red or yellow. She bought old doors and windows and then painted them red.

All dishes are vegetarian and there are 73 different kinds of drinks.

In addition, on the occasion of the opening, Indochine Corner - Corner Indochina  will reduce 20% for all dishes in the first month. Especially, Vegetarian dishes for office cost only VND 25,000 / share in two months from June to end of July.

Lan says her target customers are young city workers, art lovers, people who love a quiet space and religious people.

Truong Thi Kim Phuong, a Saigonese on her first visit to Indochine Corner, said: “It is an ideal place for friends to reunite at an affordable cost.”
