Nam Du archipelago
Nam Du is an archipelago in Kien Giang province, being 60 kilometers from the mainland. It consits of about 21 islands, one of which is Big island (Cu Tron island) – the biggest island (its area is about 14 square kilometers). Tourists can go to Nam Du by speed train from Rach Gia to save time.
In the journey to explore Nam Du, tourists can climb to the lighthouse and come in view of the island and the sunrise. Then they can take a stroll to beautiful beaches and learn about local people’s life. In addition, diving to see coral reef and spieces of fishes are interesting experiences.
In order to visit and discover the primitiveness, and grandiosity of islands on the archipelago, tourists easily take a boat and start a short trip to Hon Hang, Hon Moc, Hon Tre, Hon Dam, Hon Ong, Hon Dau and Hon Ngang.
Note: As arriving Nam Du, tourists need to notify border police before visiting anywhere in the archipelago. There is only a hotel on Big island but tourists can be assured of camping or sleeping anywhere you like.
Cu Lao Cham
Cu Lao Cham is a cluster of islands in Tan Hiep commune, Hoi An town, Quang Nam city. It is around 20 kilometers from Hoi An town and 40 kilometers from Da Nang city. Although Cu Lao Cham is not far from Da Nang city, in order to go here, you have to take a bus, a taxi and then a boat.
Cu Lao Cham is primitive and romantic with fantastic beaches, smooth white sands. Besides swimming, or enjoying fresh seafood, especially stone crabs, tourists can dive to see coral reefs and colourful fishes.
Con Dao
Con Dao is an archipelago belonging to Ba Ria – Vung Tau province. Con Dao (its alternative name is Con Son) is the biggest island in the archipelago. In Vietnam history before the 20th century, Con Son island was often called Con Lon or Con Non. Its old name in English or French documents was Poulo Condor.
From Cat Lo port – Vung Tau, tourists can go to Con Dao by boat. It will take about 12 hours to go from Vung Tau to Con Dao. Moreover, tourists can go by plane in Ho Chi Minh City, Can Tho and Hanoi.
Once known as a “hell on earth”, the islands have now become a tourist attraction for both domestic and international visitors. It is honored to be in top 10 most mysterious island in the world.
Ly Son island
Ly Son district also called Cu Lao Re is an island district seperated from Binh Son district, Quang Ngai province. It has an area of about 997 square kilometers and a population of more than 20,460 people. It consists of three islands: Big island (Ly Son, Cu Lao Re), Small island (Dao Be) and Hon Mu Cu.
The island is a traces of a volcano with 5 mouths formed 25-30 years ago. On the island, there are three national relics which are the communal house of An Hai village, Am Linh temple and Hang pagoda. Sa Huynh cultural relics can also be found in the island like Chinh stream, Oc hamlet and Cham culture.
Visiting and staying in the island, visitors can enjoy seafood and specialties that are only found here.Ly Son is attractive with blue colour of sky, green colour of coconut tree and garlic fields, as well as primitive beaches and stunning coral reefs, etc.
